A casual cruise through Germany's port city, Hamburg. With the perfect balance between land and sea, this open minded and urban city is definitely one to see (plus they've got amazing coffee, craft beers & of course, cruise ships)

trivago on tour, just another reason to wake up and love going to work each and every morning.
This past week I had the pleasure of traveling from Dusseldorf to the beautiful city of Hamburg for the Social Travel Summit with trivago. For those who are not familiar, the Social Travel Summit is a conversation style conference where some of the world's leading industry representatives, bloggers and destinations gather to develop "best practices and collaborative success in travel marketing and publishing."
Disclaimer: I am currently 40,000 feet in the air on a double decker airplane somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean with a few glasses of wine in me ('Tis the season).
For some reason I find airplanes quite relaxing. Partly because I can sleep anywhere - middle seat, emergency exit row, you name it and lights are out before the flight attendants can press play on the safety video.
Today I am flying from Frankfurt to Orlando on Lufthansa's big boy Airbus - double decker and all. Everyone knows Christmas in Germany is important, but Lufthansa really outdid themselves this season. Not only is their airport terminal decked out, but Wreaths even hang in the gallies. Amenity kits have been swapped out for a felted grey dop kit lined with Christmas fabric, wrapped with a little red bow, bell included. How many times do I have to say, it's all in the details?
The Holiday just so happened to be the feature movie on this flight (one of my all time favorites) - so here is my very merry Lufthansa lunch date as told by Cameron, Jude, Kate and Jack.

The Wine Selection
Red or white, Cameron? Lufthansa had a very generous selection of wines from all over the world. I chose the German Riesling to refrain from any withdrawls from my country of residence.
My first (date) course with Jude Law.
The Kurbis-pepperpuree was the perfect start to the date as you can see by Jude's facial expression.
And then Cameron interrupted... she was predominantly upset that she couldn't eat the crispy bread rolls #carbs.
Jack black sings theme songs to the Classics.
The classics also including Germany's traditional rolled noodles and onions - a Christmas market staple.
The Finale
Dessert, fresh fruit and Christmas cookies. Need I say more?
The movie just so happened to end at the end of the wonderful food service. Talk about perfect timing.
Thoughts? Lufthansa is incredible no matter where you sit on the airplane. But I think we all already knew this. Happy to be back in the sunshine state with my family for the holidays!
Have a very Merry Christmas & a even happier new year!

I found myself on a flight to Berlin on a Wednesday after a long day of work, I stayed up all night and got on the same flight back to work at 630am the very next day.
We went straight from TXL airport to the House of Weekend rooftop garden - a very cool summer location to watch the sunset in Berlin. It is a place filled with stylish berliners, 'gourmet' bar food, tasty drinks & the perfect lounge music to end the workday or start the evening off right.
Sometimes you just have to do and not think. That's what being young is all about, right? (Plus who doesn't love a sunset and a sunrise on an airplane)

Location: Woyton coffee shop.
The order: Iced cafe latte avec homemade granola and plain yogurt
I greatly appreciate a strong cup of coffee (preferably iced) and a cup of homemade granola in the morning. I often find myself riding my bike along the Rhein 8 min. in the opposite direction of my office just to taste the cold brew "classic on the rocks" Woyton has to offer in düsseldorf.
Café culture isn't about the caffeine kick or the mason jars that it's served in. The ideal coffee shop makes one feel like they are snuggled up on their couch on a gloomy Sunday morning (you all know the feeling). The aromas and sounds remind me of hearing my father grind and brew fresh coffee beans each and every morning before school. Not to mention, sitting and sipping a cup of coffee is the perfect excuse to people watch.
There is something intimate about coffee shops. Perhaps it's the smells, sounds, memories and stories behind each space. Or rather it is because people often find that their cup of coffee, cappuchino, or cafe au lait is a little "pick me up" on any given good, bad or mediocre morning. Simply put, That cup of coffee will never let you down.
Life is too short to sleep, enjoy a cup of coffee and keep on keeping on.
